How many of us have a huge project? Something that’s on your to do list, that seems to stay there forever?

I have such a project, and I’m finally getting started on it. It’s The Bob Rivers Show. Over the last 25 years, we’ve interviewed a treasure trove of celebrities, created a massive record of sarcasm with comedic sketches, and historical trip through time with stories told through song parody.

There’s a good portion at bobrivers.com, but lots more is packed away in boxes. It’s daunting. Live in studio performances on tape, including DAT, cassette, cart, and CD. I’ve purchased gear on EBay just to be able to play old formats and turn them into digital files.

We’ve entered a digital age. None of us are immortal. But the experiences, insights, laughter and love we have shared will be available indefinitely. Humankind is building a cloud. The sum of human knowledge and history and all forms of expression good or bad will be available on demand into the future.
